Work with his existing Ram-Mount stand for laptops.
Fabricated a steel post with VESA mount to mount the 15" Elo touchscreen.
Configured all the Bluetooth input devices. (Keyboard, Mouse)
And finally load OS and configure MS Streets and tips with GPS tracking to navigate your butt around using the touchscreen. I also connected audio to his existing Pioneer audio system as well.
Sikorsky's are the shit!!
I love that helicopter manufacturer. I use to screen print metal panels for them and another company, Air Methods. I saw a Sikorsky pick a tank off the ground like it was nothing!
Very impressive machines.
Just pm me when you have some graphics and I will cut you a killer deal.
Anyone else needing regular cut vinyl, let me know.
ok, it's off topic but i just started remembering... anyone remember that ancient nintendo game? It's was either blaster master or master blaster. haha i told you it was random but the name on the side of the van just made that pop into my head.
If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress?
haha not finished, but at the moment, just about ready to move in. The final occupancy inspection is next week, and now we're done with things like painting and flooring and down to the small things like trim and decorative light switch face plates, lol
Tonight I'm going to put together a bit of a before and after gallery and I'll be for sure to post it up :)

Well the keyboard is too big. Ordered a smaller one with a touch pad.
Turns out the mouse likes to run away when you stop suddenly too.
I will post pics of the newer setup later next week.
Im sure that keyboard is a great solution. wasnt sure of you budget. sleek though with everything being attached no more wandering mouse, and no need for a stupid pad or area to use mouse. kudos.
how applicable is the touch screen in all this?
that credit card swipe is super hot. i bet you can code him a "key card" that could use that same swiper and activate the pc, so no one could break in and like print a cheaper invoice.... like those finger print scanners for pc's/
nice finishing touches. how is the customer response? is he floating in heaven?
Great informative work log.

The touchscreen turns out to be a savior when your bluetooth devices kill their batteries. Since the touchscreen is hardwired with USB it always works.
The other app that uses the touchscreen is Microsoft's Streets and Tips.
You can easily navigate around a map using it. Kinda like a GPS on steroids!
The card swiper ID check is an interesting idea. I hadn't thought of using it like that.
The customer loves it. Within 15 seconds of starting the vehicle, your system comes out of hibernation and you're ready to roll. He loves the fact he can turn off the monitor instantly. Driving at night with a 15" screen in your face can be distracting.
Some of you might be thinking I can turn off the screen with a laptop too, no big deal. Well let's just say it is much easier to do it with a simple button. Because if it's dark out, you have to turn on the cab light just to find the keystroke to switch off a laptop screen. Simple closing the lid doesn't work either, because you generally have the laptop fixed in the open position.
Previously the customer had a new laptop with Vista on it. Let's just say even out of hibernation it would take at least two minutes before you could get going. I'm not a fan of Vista on Laptops. Desktops, sure no problem, but laptops, No way! XP all the way!
LMFAO uhm yeah slightly... hey according to ct law you can get pulled over after dark for anything producing light in your cab brighter than a cell phone or stock interior light they actually list wattage. apparently the light is a massive distraction to other drivers, as vehicles don't typically radiate odd colored light as they travel, causing drivers to look at you instead of the road lol.
i bet if you know how to program well enough you could probably get it to read his license, seeing as there is already a unique barcode and strip on the back, and he will always have it on him when he is near the pc (hopefully) lol otherwise you could just use a blank generic key card with a strip. I think it really just comes down to what prog you use to charge. not sure which ones you can crack, but ill snoop.
as far as a gps on steroids, that is awesome. i wanted to do something similar with a smaller screen, and in dash. touch screens are awesome im glad they are coming into affordability.

Here in ohio, the ID magstrip only states your name, address, and SSI #(if you opted to have it printed on the front as well) AND its not encrypted. Ive been pushing my congressman to have the info encrypted...
